Prague - 26 May - 03 June 2008 - Part 9

I dunno why it took me to finish this last bit of the trip....but anyway, told myself I'd to do it...cos there's like some unfinished task somewhere.... and it's irritating me... :)

In the tourist map, the Prague town is separated into a few parts. Where the palace was, it's called Hradcany...The old town is called Stare Mesto...So if you were to take a Metro, the best stop to get down would be "Mustek". We stayed in Ritchie's - just around 10 mins walk from this station, 5 minutes to the Old Clock. It's somewhere along "Karlova" and "Husova" street intersection. The rooms are clean but like the rest of the hostels - there are 4 floors, so it depends which floor you are getting :) there's no lift and since its in the centre of attraction, it's VERY NOISY.....cos there are restaurants downstairs....Well that's the downside when you live in the middle of the town.....

On the right, one of the streets near the hostel.....

Here we are, the famous Old Clock . There are very interesting facts about this clock. For more details on how the clock works, please go into the link. But as a conclusion, the mechanical clock and the astronomical dial dates back to 1410. During this century, it is one of the few complicated clocks.

The square where the clock is...

The single tower is Old Clock Tower and behind it is Tyn Church.... ( the one with 2 towers )

Museum....

On the famous Charles Bridge.....far behind is the castle.....

Still on the bridge

Adios to Prague.....
