Our 2nd class train seats to Aswan. Not bad lah huh??

Well we didn't believe what people said when they said the train is always delayed. True enough, we waited from 5.30pm till 7.30pm for the train to come. Apparently the drivers needed to take a rest!

Anyway we reached Aswan at 10.30pm. After deciding on the hotel, we arrived at Horus Hotel at 11.30pm. In that edition of Lonely Planet, the hotel was supposed to be quite good. But darn, the disco was a floor below and later we found out with the rate we are paying this hotel (RM80 for a double) we could've a better hotel.




We were too late to follow the "public" tour which starts at 3.00am everyday. So we had to take a private car to go to Abu Simble, which was approximately 270km (3 hours) from Aswan. The arrangement for the private car cost approx EP205=RM140 per pax for a whole day tour covering Abu Simble, High Dam, Philae Temple and the Unfinished Obelisk.
